Most truck shifters are patterned like a regular five-speed with reverse gear. R at top left, then 1 below it, 2 at middle top, 3 at middle bottom, 4 at top right and 5 at bottom right. There's a high/low range selector switch on the shifter knob that changes from the low range of 1-5 gears to the high range of 6-10.
The Volvo standard transmission seems to have the highest max speed owing to it's 12th gear ratio and final drive ratio. You could replace the standard MAN transmission, for example, with the Volvo transmission in a Mod. Copy the Volvo trans file, put in a new name for the trans, rename the file for the Man and put the file in a proper MAN folder.
If you want to switch between Automatic and manual shifting select a button or key to toggle the "Gearbox Switch Automatic/Sequential" modes. In Automatic mode the transmission will shift itself up and down and your gear will be displayed with an "A" preceding the gear number indicating it is in the "Auto" mode.

So basically 14 in staid of 16. But apparently those crawler (L gears) might help when you try to get 60+ tonnes out of a quarry. I did have trouble with that in the past with the 16 gears. But I compared them, in the only way I know, and the 16 gear one goes about about 1000rpm at 80kmh. The 12 gear one goes about 1500rpm at 80kmh.

The truck now comes with several transmission options, 13/18 spd, with and without retarder plus diff ratios from 3.90 to 4.00. If you have Fury6's 913/18 spd transmission mod, I found out his mod does support that truck. Also this truck comes with some engine options, DD13-15-16 and Paccar MX-13, enjoy!
G'day all, Has anyone published, or uploaded a tutorial on the different types of transmission's and ow to shift them? I've been driving most of the trucks with a 12 speed gear box and I'm not sure whether I double clutch them or not. I do and I don't, depending how I feel at the moment. Disadvantage of this type is low numbers of gear. In high mountains with heavier cargoes it will keep higher revs, as there are lower number of gears - might be harder to keep proper torque and fuel economy will be lower. Also, you might have lower speed uphill. In general you need to try answer your question yourself;)

Clutches are meant to engage the different gears. Adaptive Automatic Transmission: The 3 modes basically change the RPM range for the gears, ECO will shift on lower RPMs and Power will lead the engine close to the red band and then upshift. Allison transmissions are best used when you play in automatic mode. They can shift faster than most other transmissions. If you're planning on pulling heavy loads regularly, the Eaton 18 is the best choice. If it follows the same conditions as in Euro Truck it doesn't matter what your other drivers have.
